Veronica's #WritersDiary: A Sneak Peek at Book 8 in My #CozyMystery Series, Murder on the Runway!

"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening."

Coco Chanel

Today, it's my pleasure to have a book cover reveal and sneak peek at my latest cozy mystery planned for release in February 2023! In book 8 of My American Almost Royal Cousin Series, Murder on the Runway: Fashion Week at Castlewood Manor, the couture creations are front and center, along with designer drama, less than model behavior, a frosty queen of fashion, a fashionista's delight at the prestigious Masquerade Gala, and an unveiling of covert escapades involving Auntie Pippa will keep readers of this runway whodunnit teetering on their stilettos!

Special thanks to my stepdaughter, Danielle Gregorio once again for the sublime cover design! I'm tickled pink with the Chanel-esque color combo that includes a touch of pearl glam. It's a departure from the previous cover format, but I love the fresh, modern vibe of this design! Theresa Snyder will once again lend her stellar, editing expertise, Mark Schultz is on tap for his Hyperspeller word wizardry, Kathleen Harryman has designed fashion-forward graphics and animations for book promos, and Bibiana Krall's Compass Bespoke Services will tee up the seller platform and website magic.

Speaking of the multi-talented-creative, Bibiana, let's take a look at the to-die-for book trailer for this upcoming addition to my cozy series:

#Boom! Can you say couture conundrums? The cozy mystery fashion excitement is in the air. #DunDunDun We're working hard to get things completed for this exciting new release. I think it would make a perfect gift for your fav fashionista! #GalentinesDay💟📚🎁

Start practicing in those stilettos! 💋👠 It's Wednesday, time for #DearDiary:

Making a 2023 #TBR list and checking it twice...

Richard Osman; Anna Legat; Anthony Horowitz; Emma Davies; Ken Fry; Elly Griffiths; T.A. Williams; Tonya Penrose; Bonnie Garmus; Colleen Cambridge; Clare Mackintosh---these are the authors of a few of the books queued up on the VCB Kindle for my Q1 2023 books to read (so far). I've been scouring social media, BookBub, and Amazon looking for new reads. If you have a new release coming up in 2023 or a book rec, please LMK! I feel the need, the need to read! ✍📚

Danger lurks this week from the writers of Twitter...

Author Agatha Christie, A Christmas Tragedy, 5

During a holiday retreat, Miss Marple's observant eyes soon focus on fellow guests, Mr. and Mrs. Sanders. Their banter is cheery, but something seems amiss to our perceptive sleuth when it comes to Mr. Sanders. When the wife is found dead by her distressed husband, accompanied by Miss Marple, her suspicions appear to unravel. The answer lies in the details, will she be able to sift through them in time to catch the killer?

Dame Christie crafts a cunning whodunnit with one of my favorite amateur detectives. Nothing gets by the eagle eyes of Miss Jane! A baffling short-story sure to delight cozy mystery fans!

Next up in the reading queue:

Christmastime in Big Bear!

🎶Snow, snow, snow, snow, snow!🎵 We've made our winter trek to Big Bear and Mother Nature did not disappoint! The lights are everywhere and with this past weekend's rain-turned-snow it looks like a magical, winter wonderland. My snow boots had a workout, and it was a balmy 12 degrees F in the evening. #Brrrr I'm now officially ready for Christmas! 🎀❄👢 #Bliss

Welcome to my world. Enjoy your week and weekend friends!

Crowns and Kisses,

Veronica

P.S. My 99 cent sale for holiday/winter cozy tales continues 'til Midnight, #NewYearsEve! Rikkhe and Gemma approve 🎀❄👠

Thanks so much, Cathy--the runway is going to be exciting for sure! I'm definitely a happy camper in the snow and cold--I'm in my element. Loads of good reads coming up, I'm super excited--including a new one with my fav phantom in a southern town (hint, hint). Enjoy your week! xo 🎀❄👠

Wow...the new cover is to die for! (pun intended) Can't wait to see what happens on the runway. So glad that you were able to give your snow boots a work-out...you are positively the only person I know who strolls when it's 12 degrees outside and thinks it's a good thing. LOL Looking forward to many good reads in 2023; thanks for a heads-up on the search. 🙂

Really love the cover and trailer for…what…you are now at book 8 in your amazing series! Congrats! I have read (and have noticed people around the pool reading) some of the books on your reading list. Lessons in Chemistry is my favorite. Read that one first. The Elly Griffiths series is excellent. I read them all and I’m waiting for her latest. I have read the first book in the Richard Osman series- really fun. All well-written books. Merry Christmas!
