Or, the makings of a perty-darn-good cozy mystery tale! I've been having loads of fashion fun this month as I'm writing book 8 in my cozy mystery series. Today I thought I'd share some interesting tidbits on the topic of couture that you might not know about courtesy of:
10 Cool Facts About Fashion Week (stylefox.co). I've added a bit of almost-royal cozy commentary, of course... 💖👑
Fashion week started in NYC in 1993 (I thought it had been around much longer!) with Milan, London, and Paris added later. #WhoKnew Can you imagine how much fun it would be to attend one of these events? 😍
There are over 40 Fashion Weeks across the globe #BigBusiness Of course Gemma and friends will want to support the British-fashionista home teams! #London
Shows last about 10 minutes. #What All the planning, drama, and resulting mayhem for 10 minutes of fashion glam? I spy with my writer's eye a few designer tempers flaring...
Not all models are rich and famous (despite the social media buzz). Everyone is jockeying for position as the new 'it-girl'... I think there may be a bit of model drama in the new tale. #JustSayin
Not all shows are runways--called presentations, models stand on pedestals as guests roam around. I think the fashion presentations in this next tale may offer a few surprises... #Boom
Couture designers do not show in NYC. 👀 another #WhoKnew
Clothing designers only are featured at Fashion Week. #Gasp I'm sorry, but Gemma will have to highlight a few items such as boots, stilettos, and a tiara or two. The pointy heels can be deadly methinks... 👠 #DunDunDun
Shows occur all over the cities. However, in my new tale, I have a venue with an historic past that's certain to cause a few crowns to spin... #UhOh
No tickets, it's all about WHO YOU KNOW... Gee, I bet that might cause some problems... #CozyMysteryCatwalkFights
The parties are the best part. Yup, nothing exciting ever happens at a gathering of posh people amply stoked with alcohol and ne'er-do-wells.... #YeahRight 👀
Thanks again to StyleFox for the enlightening Fashion Week facts! I'll be sharing more details on book 8 next month. Who's ready to walk the runway? It's Wednesday, time for #DearDiary:

Deadly deeds in Tuscany this week from the writers of Twitter...
Author T.A. Williams, Murder in Tuscany, 5 ⭐
When retired, DCI Dan Armstrong sets off to attend his first writer's retreat in the hills of Tuscany, he's filled with many emotions. His police career has come to an end, and unfortunately, it seems his marriage has as well. When he arrives at the stunning villa where the retreat will be held, he meets his fellow writers, marveling at their sometimes-quirky personalities, and risqué genres of choice!
As the gatherings commence, dark secrets emerge, leading to deadly consequences. Dan is called in to assist the investigation and find out more about the eclectic attendees of this literary gathering. A killer is amongst them--will Dan's sleuthing bring an untimely end to his writing aspirations?
Author Williams weaves a gripping whodunnit set in the beautiful hills of Tuscany. The characters, settings, and chilling twists and turns will keep you glued to the page! Did I mention how much I relished the delicious food and wine descriptions and the side-trips into Florence? I thoroughly enjoyed this cozy mystery tale and now have a new series to follow. A highly recommended read!

My queen of fashion...
I have to say I've become more and more of a fan of Coco Chanel during the writing of this latest book. This designing woman was a survivor and extraordinary innovator IMHO. The two books shown above have been a delight to read and savor the drawings and pictures within. She set the fashion bar high and had an attitude of elegance that flourishes to this day. The drawings below are some of my favs---I think one could be Gemma, what say you? (Pssst...she's rockin' those black gloves...) 💖👑
💋👠
Welcome to my world. Enjoy the rest of your week and weekend, friends!
Crowns and Kisses,
Veronica
P.S. A fashion flashback from a Christmas trip to NYC a few years ago. I love the pink glam, LOL! Gemma and Rikkhe approve 💖👑
Fabulous post! I’ve always loved Coco Chanel as well. She was a genius. The shows are so glamorous. One day I would like to see one in Paris or Milan in person.
Can’t wait to read how you incorporate fashion into your new story. Gemma has a fairy-tale life and its a wonderful escape to visit Cherrywood Hall.
